Mission Statement
In harmony with the mission of Brigham Young University–Hawaii to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life, and in their efforts to promote world peace and international brotherhood, the BYUH Language & Speech Lab is a laboratory facility that primarily servers the campus community in the learning and use of selected languages.
The Language & Speech Lab's objective is to help students achieve their language and speech courses and goals. Whether a beginner or advanced, we have material for all levels. We offer:
- Trained language and speech tutors.
- Books, textbooks, and audio.
- Computer lab, software, and online programs.
- DVDs and graded quizzes.
And even if you just come to browse or talk to our staff we would be more than pleased to assist you.
English
- Listening, speaking, grammar tutors.
- DVDs and comprehension quizzes.
- TALL, Tense Buster, Brain Pop software.
Languages
- French, Spanish, Japanese, ASL, Cantonese, Korean, tutors on request.
- Textbooks, audio.
- Mango language and other software.
Speech
- Speech, presentation, and pronunciation tutors.
- Workshops and practice opportunities.

Location
The Language & Speech Lab is part of the McKay General Classroom Building in room 156 near the Little Theater and McKay Faculty Building.
