Mission Statement
In harmony with the mission of Brigham Young University–Hawaii to assist individuals in their quest for perfection and eternal life, and in their efforts to promote world peace and international brotherhood, the BYUH Language & Speech Lab (LSL) is a laboratory facility that primarily servers the campus community in the learning and use of selected languages.
The Language & Speech Lab's objective is to help students achieve their language and speech goals. Whether a beginner or advanced language learner, we have material for all levels. We offer:
- Trained language and speech tutors for select languages.
- Books, video, and audio language materials.
- Computer lab with online programs.
- DVDs with comprehension quizzes.
And even if you just come to browse or talk to our staff, we would be more than pleased to assist you.
English and Speech
- Speech, pronunciation, and presentation tutors
- Videos with comprehension quizzes
- TALL, Tense Buster, Brain Pop software
- Workshops and practice opportunities
Languages
- Korean, Tagalog, and Thai Tutors
- Can potentially provide other Language tutors on request.
- Textbooks, audio.
- Mango language and other software.

The Language & Speech Lab is part of the McKay General Classroom Building in room 156 near the Little Theater and McKay Faculty Building.
